Future temple of the “popolo spirituale” So Damanhur have a new even bigger temple planned, and have permission to build it. This is to unite all the esoteric/spiritual/magical peoples, tribes and shamans of the world, so that their culture, knowledge and languages are not lost, and so they can support each other. Special time. Turns out we arrived at a pretty special time in Damanhur. The first Monday was their ‘Oracle’ ceremony, and on Saturday was a ceremony of the union for the community,  and Sunday was the birthday of the founder which they celebrate as the birthday of the community. On our tour of nucleos Casa De lago (house of the lake) was next. They have a very strong connection to water as the name suggests & are very close to Puerto Della Luna (place of the moon)      

Art Day One of our days was dedicated to making art. Individual and collective art creation is a very important part of Damanhur’s history and culture. We made clay sculptures on the theme ‘the others and me’ after a short meditation. And we also made a communal painting. Initially we worked on our own piece of the paper and then worked on what others had been doing. Damjl Brian & I stayed in Damjl. Magilla This was the second nucleo we visited. A person from our group stayed here. We had a sharing about ourselves the first day too & we found out they had a really traumatic abusive life. Brian & I went to Damanhur to participate in their 10 day “Amine” program. I’m still not sure what it means but they described it as something more than for tourists & a little more insight to life there. So I can say Damanhur is completely different from Tamera & Sunseed! Very quickly Brian & I realized Sunseed would not be somewhere we’d settle because no one is allowed to stay for more than 3 years! It is a very transient community. They say it’s so no hierarchy develops so people are equal. I admire this idea but equally I believe hierarchy does exist there simply with the different types of volunteers, co-ordinators, who are there for at least a year, long term volunteers (6 months) & then short term volunteers.
